Not all photography tools have to be expensive. Sometimes a simple piece of craft foam with some Velcro can be the most useful thing in your bag.

Our boys were born one year ago today. Tragically their lungs were not yet developed and we lost them. We took them balloons today to remember their birthday. One for each of them and one to represent the little boys and girls our friends have lost. We like to think they've found each other and are playing together now.

This was shot for project52.org assignment 3: Still Life for an Editorial Article. I spent about 30 min searching the house for items to photograph, about 30 minutes setting up the shot 10 minutes shooting and tweaking and 30 minutes working on the post processing. Strobist: One i622 mkII in a 28in Apollo boomed directly overhead. White foam core on each side as a reflector.
