Through the eye of a lens, photography lets you focus on the beauty in life. Russell’s interest in photography roots back to his childhood home where his dad built a darkroom for developing nature photos. Now living in the Triangle area, Russell has his eye on people, portraits, and performance. He enjoys being able to utilize his strong technical background to help bring vision to reality, highlighting the best in his subjects.

Cirque de Vol April 2013 : These are the rough proofs from the Spring Showcase at Cirque de Vol. I'm truly amazed at how skilled the performers have become in such a short period of time! Any print orders will get color corrected and basic retouching and there will be a slight delay while I do this. Also any print orders over $20 can expect a digital optimized for sharing on the web to find its way to their inbox! Light the Way to Justice : As the Supreme Court judges the fate of DOMA and Prop 8, join us on this historic day as we show our hope and support for marriage equality. Let's light the way to justice! Location: Sidewalk of Wake County Courthouse 316 Fayetteville Street, Raleigh, NC About 150 vigils will be taking place across the country (and over 10 here in NC) as the nation's highest court hears oral arguments in the Prop 8 and DOMA cases on March 26 and 27. Will you join us? Equality NC is honored to host the March 26th vigil along with HRC and the ACLU of NC. The vigil will be led by community leaders Tracy Hollister and Maddy Goss, who will both MC the event. Tracy and Maddy led the state's largest phone bank against Amendment One last Spring at the UU Fellowship of Raleigh. The event will also involve: * Featured speakers: -Jimmy Creech (Methodist marriage equality advocate, author of "Adam's Gift, A Memoir of a Pastor’s Calling to Defy the Church’s Persecution of Lesbians and Gays") -Raleigh City Councilor Mary-Ann Baldwin (advocate for equal rights who has a gay sister) -NC Representative Marcus Brandon (only openly out LGBT member of the NC General Assembly) -Jennifer Rudinger (Executive Director of the ACLU of NC, which is challenging NC Supreme Court’s ban on 2nd parent adoption) -Mark Zumbach (advocate for separation of church and state, and President Emeritus of Triangle Freethought Society) * Music by Someone's Sister (Georgia Winfree and Katherine Jones) * Candlelight vigil to light the way to justice * Live tweeting other state & national events. #Light2Justice Please invite your friends to spread the word! Open Bridal Shoot at Cobblestone Hall : Much thanks to Chris Florio for organizing the first meet up of the Triangle Chapter of the North Carolina Photography Group. The nice folks at Cobblestone Hall let us use their beautiful space in the City Market area of downtown Raleigh for the evening. Chris also arranged for makeup artists and stylists to make our models feel extra special. We were able to share techniques, network with others from the Triangle interested in photography, and to get some shots of our own. A great event for all!

Portrait Palooza : Some of my shots for the second Portrait Palooza event held by the Wedding Photographic Society. We had only 10 minutes to shoot with our model anywhere inside the Renaissance Raleigh North Hills Hotel. NCFAF : 10/15/2010 Durham, NC The North Carolina Fetish Art Festival was created in 2009 by a group of kinky artists and art lovers in the Raleigh/Durham area. With few resources and little experience, the festival’s first year crew made a memorable event and spectacular party for the triangle area kinky art community. Head shots can be a bit boring and constrained (thanks casting directors everywhere) so we got her some that were a bit more fun as well.
